So I know this girl..
well, I don't really know her irl, I only know her on the internet through her super awesome blog http://wahappenings.blogspot.com/

and she recently had a post about going to the Fixed Magazine Launch Party in London.

She says, "After a banging evening of games, free drink, impromteau DJing and a dance off with local b-boys, we all set off to go to Katie Skills party at Dragon Bar like a pack of feral wolves and I fell off my bike spectacularly while showing off...."
Here's the damage:

a busted eye AND

2 chipped bones in her wrist.

BUT like a good girl, she doesn't blame her bike :)

here's what she says,
"I can't believe I acted so stupid! Never show off, while drunk!

But I still don't blame you my love..."

do you think that bicycles have souls?
when I go to work and have to leave my bike at BART,
it feels like daycare, sort of, not really, but let's just say..
aaaand soooo I always try to lock up next to the hottest bike there
or at least one with some style and originality
so they can
have fun and laugh
and flirt and be
bike friends!
I think other people do that too
maybe
I don't know
but seems like, maybe

soooo.. while I still have plenty of bruises, I'm lacking actual photos of said bruises. and they are nothing too exciting anyway. you're not missing much.
BUT, I do have new pics of my two favorite bikes :)



We rode up to Union Point (I think that's what it's called) around sunset the other day and it was quite nice.
And had I been riding with, oh I don't know... a boyfriend or basically any cute boy other than my exxxx-boyfriend, it might have even been slightly romantic.
But alas, there are no other cute bike riding boys in my life at the moment, so we really only chilled long enough for me to take these pics.
Then we bounced over to the taco truck.

yes, but their love is strictly platonic ;)
I'm pretty sure BOTH OF THESE BIKES ARE SINGLE, lol

Bombshell 2008

Sam was awesome enough to organize the 2nd annual Bombshell Alley Cat Race in Oakland last weekend and it was lots of fun!




I suck and I did not even finish the race. I got separated from my team and they had the map and I couldn't find the rose garden. Then I got this insane cramp in my butt and decided to just ride down hill to my house to play with my new iphone. :)
But NEXT year.. I'm all over it.(and I went out and bought my own maps so I'll never be lost again, lol)
But it was fun to see all the girls dressed up with their bikes.
This kind of thing makes me happy.

I haven't been riding my bike much lately, which probably explains why I've been in such a shitty mood.
(exercise is my drug and without it, I get cranky, lol).
So here is an old bruise.
I like it because it's perfectly round.
It's my favorite.

I did ride my bike last night, and I somehow managed to lose my light.
Not cool.
That light was perfect.
And now it's gone.
Damn it.

PA custom/fabricated sidecar bike

I've seen this guy and his dogs twice since I started working in Palo Alto.
He has this awesome custy bike with a SideCar for his English Bull Dog and this huge Great Dane run/walks along side them.
It is sooooo freakin' awesome!

We are glad that Vicki healed up nicely.
And her FWoD emergency room visit will be memorialized in FWoD trivia for many a potluck to come.

Halloweeeen!!

I was my bike for Halloween.

We started Ghost Ride, but got a massive blow out in the cemetery so..
that was that.
But we did get to play around in the cemetery for a bit.



I also took some pics of my left over bruises from my last crash where I sprained my wrist. ouch!

Kelley!

This is my friend Kelley.

Since I have two bikes,

I used to let her borrow the BofA bike and we would ride alllll over Oakland.

But Kelley moved to New Zealand in Sept. :(
And the day before she left she had a nice little crash.

And so she got to sit in an airplane seat for like 16 hours with this boo boo, which was right where the arm rest rubs.
A nice little reminder of Oakland and good times.

crashing..

sucks so bad.
you feel stupid.
you feel angry and wronged.
you feel like *OUCH!*

you want to get out of the street.
you want your bike to be ok.
you want to heal.

But before it's too late, you want to show the world your wounds.
Ok, maybe that's just me. Is it? I don't know. Maybe it is.

maybe I'm just trying to get you to feel sorry for me.
maybe I'm just trying to get you to notice how totally hard core I am.
or maybe I'm just trying to relate,
because I know that you've been hurt too.

We ride and we laugh.
We ride and we crash.
We get up. We blog.
